Severn Trent Water is to invest £45M in Wanlip STW

Costain and MWH are progressing well with the inlet works at Wanlip STW, which includes the upgrade of the existing storm pumping station and the construction of a new pumping station.

Working extensively on Severn Trent Water sites and having an established relationship with Costain has enabled Franklyn Yates Engineering to get involved in the early stages of design on this ambitious project.

Franklyn Yates Engineering's management team worked alongside Costain and MWH reviewing the design to ensure that there was a cost effective solution that met the criteria of the design brief. This innovative approach to collaborative working has paid dividends already by combining the mechanical installation and the support steelwork packages to ensure every element of the design fits seamlessly as a complete solution.

The manufacture of pipework and steelwork is well underway and there is plenty to keep the engineers busy, with the installation of new storm pumps, valves and grit pipework along with RAM pumps, wash water pipework, diversion pipework and baffle plates.
