Minworth STW - Heat Exchangers

Minworth is Severn Trent’s largest Sewage Treatment Works serving a population equivalent of 1.75 million from Birmingham. The plant also treats a high volume of imported sludge from industry and regional works, the site is currently undergoing a £145 million upgrade.

Franklyn Yates Engineering have been working on Minworth STW over the past year with Costain and are pleased to announce that they have completed the LTP mechanical installation works.

Tasks

The project included:

  • Supply and installation of ductile iron pipework, fittings and support systems
  • Pressure testing of the pipe work
  • Indentification banding of pipe work and tagging of the valves
  • Installation of the heat exchangers and associated fixings
  • Removal of old and  installation of new interstage pumps
  • Removal of old and installation of final effluent pumps
  • Remedial pipe work repairs
  • Installation of free issued manual and actuated valves
  • Supply of fixings

Results

The gallery shows the finished installation, this is another example of Franklyn Yates Engineering's high standards. The project was completed on time, to budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
