Ambergate Reservoir: Severn Trent Water

Franklyn Yates Engineering Limited have secured a contract with two new clients, Laing O'Rourke and NMC Nomenca on the Ambergate Reservoir project, which is a site owned by Severn Trent Water located in the Peak District.

The contracted work covers the design, supply, manufacture and installation of various sized pipework systems.  The rationale behind the contract is for the DN300, DN700, DN900, DN1000 and DN1200 pipework spool sections to be manufactured off site with the free issued valves bolted to the pipework in our workshops prior to installation at site.  The thinking behind this strategy for the delivery of the works is to reduce the time spent on site, which improves the programme of works, reduces the potential compromise to health and safety at site and introduces commercial efficiencies that ultimately provide a more cost-effective product and service for our clients' Laing O'Rourke, NMC Nomenca and Severn Trent Water.

This strategy for delivery at Ambergate Reservoir is moulding our forward thinking process for all projects, for all clients where we can provide improved efficiencies concerning health and safety, the environment, delivery timetable for the works and cost savings.  Franklyn Yates Engineering Limited are going to adapt similar initiatives with all our projects in the future.
